Officina Kreuzberg is a shared workspace near Hermannplatz, on the Kreuzberg–Neukölln border. There's no operator and no front desk: the space is run by its members, a collective of freelancers and remote workers in software, design, research, architecture, policy and communications – many of us working with NGOs and social projects.

What you get: a desk with 24/7 access, fast internet, a printer, a big kitchen and a terrace where we have lunch or an after-work drink together. Hasenheide park is across the street, supermarkets and lunch places around the corner. What we ask: that you take part in the life of the space.

Questions & answers

The short version: a fix desk is 255 € a month and a flex desk 155 € a month, both including VAT. No deposit and no minimum term – the notice period is one month for a flex desk and three months for a fix desk. We're at Jahnstraße 13, 10967 Berlin, a few minutes from Hermannplatz (U7, U8), and the trial day is free: work with us for a day and stay for lunch.

Jahnstraße 13, 10967 Berlin – between Hasenheide park and Hermannplatz, on the Kreuzberg–Neukölln border. Hermannplatz (U7, U8) is a few minutes' walk, and supermarkets and lunch places are around the corner.
What does a desk cost?
A fix desk is 255 € a month and a flex desk 155 € a month. All prices include VAT.
What's the difference between a fix desk and a flex desk?
A fix desk is yours alone: leave your screen, books and gear, and come in whenever you want, 24/7. A flex desk is shared with other members – you bring your laptop and can use the space three days a week plus weekends.
Is there a minimum term or a deposit?
No minimum term and no deposit. The notice period is one month for a flex desk and three months for a fix desk.
What's included?
Fast internet, a printer, coffee and tea, a big kitchen and a terrace – and a place in the collective: shared lunches, after-work drinks, and people to ask when you're stuck on something.
Are chairs and monitors provided?
Chairs, yes. Fix desk members bring their own monitor and leave it on their desk. For flex desks there are a few shared monitors – first come, first served.
How do I get into the building?
There's no physical key: the door opens with an app on your phone, so nothing to pick up, hand over or lose.
Is there a phone booth or a meeting room?
No phone booth. For calls and small meetings you can use the basement – it does the job, but it's not a proper meeting room. If you're on video calls all day, come for a trial day first and see whether the space works for you.
Which floor is it on?
The ground floor. If you have specific accessibility needs, write to us and we'll tell you exactly what to expect at the entrance.
Can I bring my dog?
Usually not. We make exceptions for dogs that are used to a shared office and don't bark – ask us before you bring one.
How do I get a desk?
Fill out the contact form and tell us a bit about what you do. We'll invite you for a free trial day; if it works for both sides, you pick a desk.
Can I try it out first?
Yes – the trial day is free. Book a slot in the calendar above, work with us for a day and stay for lunch.
What does “run by its members” mean?
There's no operator and no staff. The members rent the space together and share the tasks of running it – bills, kitchen, website, events. Joining means taking on a small share of that.
Who works at Officina?
Freelancers, remote employees and researchers: developers, designers, illustrators, architects, a data scientist, a policy coordinator, a copywriter, a filmmaker. Many of us work with NGOs and social projects. Meet the collective.
Can I host an event at Officina?
Members and friends can use the space for workshops, fundraisers, parties and the like. Write to us with your idea.
Do you still run the artist residency?
It has been on pause since 2021, and we're planning to bring it back in 2027. The past residents are in the archive.
