A workspace run by its members
Officina Kreuzberg opened in 2016 as a shared workshop and has grown into a coworking space run as a collective. There's no company behind it: the members rent the space together, decide together and share the work of running it. That keeps the rent low and the place ours.
We're a mixed group – developers, designers, illustrators, architects, researchers, a policy coordinator, a copywriter, a filmmaker. What most of us have in common is who we work for: NGOs, non-profits, social and environmental projects.
How it works
No operator, no landlord in the building – a group of people who decided to run a workspace together.
The collective
Between 14 and 20 members, each with a desk and a share of the responsibilities: someone does the bills, someone the kitchen, someone the website. New members come for a trial day first – it has to work both ways.

We open the doors a few times a year: open days, parties, fundraisers, workshops, and 48 Stunden Neukölln. Members can use the space for their own events too.

From 2019 to 2021 we ran an artist-in-residence programme: six artists, each spending two to three months here and showing their work at the end. It's on pause, and we're talking about bringing it back in 2027.
